What makes a Best Friend Forever?

I have two BFF’s.  I was talking to one of them the other day about friendship.  After we hung up from each other, the thought came to me, what makes a person your true BFF?  They deposit so much into my life that it’s hard to define. One tells me like it is no matter how painful or how mad it makes me. While the other one always make me stop, think and analyze the situation before making an irrational, emotional or sometimes even a right decision.  My BFF’s are  people who I can tell my darkest secret or sweetest achievement and they’ll always have my back, even in death. Do we argue? Of course. Do we get mad with each other? Of course we do. But, it doesn’t waver who we are to each other…BFFs.  The core of the friendship is trust without reservation. It’s an awesome feeling.  Of course, the husband is the ultimate friend but I don’t believe he understands the way I think.  Well, I know he doesn’t because sometimes I receive that blank stare that reminds me of a deer caught in headlights.  But still, he’s my hero.  Think about it and tell what makes your friend a BFF.

    Hi Renee,
Best friends are so wonderful. I met one of my best friends in elementary school, the other one I met in college. Because of family commitments and distance, we don’t talk as often as I’d like, but there is an instant connection when we do touch base. Somehow, I need to convince one of my best friends to move closer so we can have lunch more often! 🙂

Renee, you’re right. A best friend is a treasure. Who else is going to listen to you when you’re repeating yourself, or tag along when you’re buying that extra pair of shoes or encourage you to eat that cheesecake your hips don’t need. Yeap, they’re the best.
